MAP and OFVM Film Oxford have been working with the Anjali Dance group in the final production stage of the First Light Studio Award in experimental film and they have produced some outstanding work based on themes of connection.

It was interesting and I liked watching us on the screen afterwards – Alex

Experimental film robot

MAP Multi Arts Programme have been working in partnership with OFVM Film Oxford with to deliver an innovative programme of experiemental film, making 4 movies with 80 young people throughout Oxfordshire funded by First Light, UK Film Council.

Our final movie is titled 'Connection' and the groups are creating movie footage to be displayed on our life size ' Video-robot', which is in need of a name! Any suggestions?

In the final stage, professional film makers are working with Banbury Youth Housing Project BYHP, Anjali Dance Group and the Courtyard Youth Arts Centre, Bicester.

All four films made throughout the project will be screened at our finale event at the Mill Theatre Banbury on the 14th December 2010 and also at venues throughout Oxfordshire, dates to be confirmed.

DAY 3 Sound Workshop

At this very miniute, we are filming people saying nursery rhymes so that we can mix up the visuals and the sound. Yesterday we did all about the lighting and how to get it right on the film. On monday we were learning how to do film structures. It is really good Fun. FAE 13

I really enjoyed the first day when we were doing film scratching, i haven't used 'proper' film before and the projector and everything was really cool. I loved drawing on the reels then chopping up and sticking together our own reels.
Using proffesional equipment, like the cameras, mics, and lights is great. LOUIS, 15

GOOD DAY !

well week six and yesterday we went outside and into town to film it was fun but the rain was being annoying, silly rain.so we filmed some footage in an alleyway, south park and some spoooky corridor.i was on sound for a little while i rather enjoyed that i also helped film and make some sound effects to use, the others also did some sound effects some nice singing from Chloe-mae too.

hello my freaky darlings

We are now aproaching the 6th week of an experimental film project so next monday we will be ready for our location shoot yay! So far we've watched examples of experimental film, learned how to use the camreas,cut+scratched+coloured then spliced our own 16mm film loop, the diffent types of shots, how sound effects can be used and put some to footge we filmed outside, lighting and blue screen.

So far this has been an interesting experience and i personally prefer to be behind the camrea than in front of it :)i've met some nice new people aswell.
